IMPORTANT TREK DATES

Sunday, April 21st -- Pre-Trek Fireside
7-8:30 PM at the Stake Center. Youth, parents and leaders are invited to attend.

Wednesday, May 29th -- Combined YM/YW Trek Activity

7-8:30 PM at the Stake Center for all Portland Stake Youth, their trek guests, and ward YM/YW Presidents. Get excited for trek! Get to know youth outside your ward better. Fun and entertaining!

Monday, June 24th -- Gear Drop Off
6 - 8 PM at the Stake Center. Youth need to bring their plastic bag with sleeping items and their 5 gallon bucket packed with their other personal gear. (Please only bring items from the list.)

Tuesday, June 25th -- Leave for Trek
7 AM meet at the Stake Center for buses to take participants and leaders to Bing Canyon. Bring your lunch and water bottle in a small, wearable satchel or backpack.

Friday, June 28th -- Arrive back home
Meet at the Stake Center at Noon. The buses should arrive around that time, but we will try to keep you posted via the Facebook page if we are running late. https://www.facebook.com/groups/320727754259337

Meanwhile ...
Get your gear ready!!!
Get your 5 gallon trek bucket and lid!!!
Get your trek clothes and shoes now!!!
Get walking (and breaking in your trek boots/shoes). You MUST be able to walk 3-4 miles in an hour!!!
Prepare your pioneer story!!!
Complete your Code of Conduct!!!

Finally, we added an item to the gear list. Youth may wish to have a small satchel or a backpack to wear to keep a few essential items always accessible (IE water bottle, journal, gloves, etc.)

Registration

Registration opens on Sunday, March 3rd, and the registration deadline is April 7th. The link to registration is on the right hand side of the page under the heading Required Forms. If you are on a mobile device and cannot see the link, please make sure to click the option "view web version" found at the bottom of the page. Registration needs to be completed by a parent or guardian for each attendee, and the separate Code of Conduct needs to be completed by each youth who is attending.

Welcome to the Portland Stake Trek Blog!

This year the Portland Stake youth will have the unique chance to participate in a pioneer Trek, an opportunity that few youth will ever experience.  It will provide participants a chance to come to know the sacrifices of the early pioneers, their faith, dedication and unwavering commitment to God.  It will be challenging both physically and spiritually, but the journey will strengthen your testimony and increase your appreciation of our pioneer heritage. We invite you to accept the invitation to join us on this Trek, so you may grow closer to the Savior.
